Straightening hair..?

so.. i've been told by many, that straightening your hair with a flat iron is bad (even ceramic?) ... well alright, so I agree with that.

but how can i have straight hair without using a straightener, and without getting perms?

anyone know? tips? ideas? experiences?

i have pretty wavy/curly hair, so even blowdrying it straight is hard

thanks...

Straightening hair..?

Just make sure to protect your hair before straighting. There's always a cause and effect to anything you do. If don't want to damage your hair-leave it curly. Otherwise if you like the look of straight than straighten as much as you want to. Life's too short to worry, hair can be cut off!

Straightening hair..?

I know you said no perms, but try easy straight. It's amazing...only 30 bucks and not bad for your hair. It will help your getting ready time sooo much and it made my hair have better condition. I promise this really works! No...I don't work for them. If you want to keep straightening with an iron, use some kind of spray or product to protect your hair. That's all there is to it. Tresemee makes some that's like 3 bucks.

Straightening hair..?

Air dry. =P

Natural and harmless.

Straightening hair..?

there is a flat iron that works sooo good on my hair and my har is hard 2 get it lik i want it....its called the Maxiglide...4realz u should get it...its freakn awesome 4realz

Straightening hair..?

i don't know any other ways to straighten your hair besides what you said already but using a ceramic straightener after your hair is dry is fine. but if you do it constantly day after day it'll just give u dry hair and split ends. so it's not that bad. if this doesn't help google it for alternatives.

Straightening hair..?

my sis has this rwalloy nice one that she got form a store i think its called walmart and it was only 20.00$

Straightening hair..?

You can use products.

Straightening hair..?

the only way I can straighten my hair is with the flat iron... sorry but idk any other way.....i use a lot of conditioner to maintain my hair healthy

Straightening hair..?

As long as you use good quality straighteners such as GHD and a heat protection product (ask in hairdressers or chemist) then it shouldn't be a problem. Hair drying is also not great for hair so you should always let you're hair dry naturally for as long as possible before finishing off with the hair dryer.

Straightening hair..?

if u use good conditioner and damage repair products, then flat ironing your hair isn't all that bad

after a while, it does kinda flatten it out, so just use volumizing shampoo from time to time

i have really curly frizzy hair, so i straighten my hair everyother day

..but, dont wash your hair everyday. (you can still take showers without wetting your hair) it dries your hair out

Straightening hair..?

okay..the brand Chi makes this AH_MAZiNG stuff called "super straight". it's this stuff that you put in your hair... it's kind of like leave-in conditioner... and when you blow dry it's straight! it works soo well %26amp;%26amp; it smells really good!!

Straightening hair..?

you can straighten your haair with a treatment callled x-tenso by loreal

only at a salon with this kind of products

Straightening hair..?

Well, your only option really is using a blow dryer. I have been straightening my hair for years now with a flat iron and my hair is thick and healthy. It's really not all that bad for your hair as long as it is completely dry. Although, there are ways of using the blow dryer. If you hold out your hair with a hair brush then take the blow dryer and go up and down until it is perfectly straight then there yah go. It's pretty hard to explain. But the same hot heat in blow dryers is the same kind of heat in flat irons. It's all heat and either or are perfectly safe.

Straightening hair..?

well my dear.. i use a straightening iron on bad hair days and condition it alot.. not much u can do to get straight hair without using hair solutions or irons or a blow dryer?.. if u use any of those methods.. condion your hair alot.. and trim dead ends..

Straightening hair..?

a ceramic hairstraightner is not bad it is actually the best way to straighten it. I bought the CHI at trade secret and it works awesome. It is fast to. Just put frizzies in your hair first. They are about 119.00 but you'll always have it and a salon staighten is about 100.00 so go get one. Or you can buy one at like walmart for 50.00 but make sure it is ceramic because it is the best and won't damage your hair

Straightening hair..?

Use natural hair products and let it air dry. I use Aubrey's Organics shampoo and conditioner for frizzy hair, once a week, and an organic leave in conditioner after the shower and let it air dry over night. I get really nice curls, naturally. But, I straighten my hair the following day to last me a week before I start all over again. Better than all the chemically loaded stuff and washing and straightening every damn day that most people are doing and destroying their hair. That's all I have to suggest from my experience.

Straightening hair..?

if u go 2 the store and u look in the section where they have brushes the have this brush that looks like a straitening iron except it has bristles! it works really good! cause i have 1 and my hair is curly and after i use it my hair is really straight! but ur hair needs 2 b dry before u use it!

Straightening hair..?

its not bad if u dont use a straightener all the time, just make sure u use products that protect the hair from blowdryers and straighteners and also products that help it to straighten quicker with better results than not using any products.

Straightening hair..?

Um no... even blowdrying and brushing your hair is not good for it. HA I have naturally curly hair myself and I know what you mean about it being a pain to straighten. I use a few different products by john freida and they help, use the frizzease when you get out of the shower and after you blowdry it or after it dries use a little bit of "secret weapon" also by john freida and if you plan to use a curling iron or straightening iron they have sprays and creams you can use that "protect" the hair from this heat damage. after its straight use very Little hairspray (also dries out hair) Basically.. if you want your hair anyway other then the way it is you gotta work for it... LOL my best advice to you , ignore people who dont do your hair on a regular basis and know your regime.

Straightening hair..?

go to your hairstylist, they might have the permanent hair smoothinng system. it works but it does'nt make it stick straight. i use a straightener everyday and my hair is not dead at all. i have a ceramic straighten, if you get one get ceramic, it makes you hair more sleek. if you hair gets dry, DONT wash it everyday. you can also also do an at home system where you just condition your hair (after getting out of the shower and towel drying it) with EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA virgin olive oil. leave it in for like.. an hour or so leaving it in a showercap. it will feel gross but you have to put up with it lol. then wash. you hair might be oily but atleast it's not dry and frizzy. it will aslo help straighten your hair! hope this works! email me with any questions

Straightening hair..?

blow dry at da solon first try it out at home if it dosen't work go to the salon

Straightening hair..?

I USE AN IRON WITHA FOLDED TOWL AND MY HAIR DOESNT MESS UP I HAVE THINK HAIR .. SO IF YOU DO TRY IT ..

Straightening hair..?

There's nothing wrong with using a straightner. People make the mistake by not using flat irons correctly. Never straighten your hair unless it's been freshly washed. If your hair is natural , wash your hair about twice a week. Don't blow dry your hair if you plan on straighten. Too much heat can damage your hair. Instead, use some moisturizer and section your hair off into forur section (from ear to ear and straight down the middle.) Twist your hair (braid). Apply a scarf. When you get up the next day, then straigten your hair. Don't think that you need alot of oily hair spray as you straighten it. Actually, too much oil can cause buildup and dandruff to grow.

Straightening hair..?

well I also want to straighten my hair, and i found the best product (no chemicals) you go a use Bedhead Control Freak shampoo, conditioner, and serum. by 3 to 7 days you hair will be straight as cardboard.it worked so perfectly for me!

Straightening hair..?

try garneir fructis sleek and shine system. I heard it works but I've never tried it myself. Hope this helps!

Straightening hair..?

Well, theres products you can use to spray or work through your hair before you straighten with a flat iron, so that the heat does not destroy it. And this of it this way- you blow dry your hair don't you? So its already getting heat damage anyway. But most of the products I use before i straighten really help.

Straightening hair..?

Put 1/3 cup of milk in a spray bottle, spritz DRY hair thouroughly, comb through, allow to set 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual. Blow dry straight or allow to dry naturally. You will find that your hair is very straight and silky. Hope this works for you.
