My hair is not straightening properly. How can I fix this?

I have a revlon straightener. I got a haircut yesterday, and I'm not able to straighten my hair like my hairdresser did yesterday. It looked really good when she did it...but when I do it, it looks like a half-straightened peice of crap!!!!

Are there any good products that I can use that will get my hair to straighten? Ones that aren't too expensive?

I don't have all the time in the world...I can't spend 2 and a half hours straightening my short hair.

You can either buy a better straightener (which would save you the money on the products in the long run), or you can try Bedhead Control Freak. I've used it and I love it - straightens and tones down frizziness. :D

try using the thermal protector for dry, coarse hair...it will help protect your hair from the heat and it has an invisible hold factor in it which works REALLY well....x

Try the Biolage Smoothing Serum or the Biolage Smoothing Gel. You put them in your hair while it is still wet. Blow dry and then straighten. It will also help protect your hair from drying out and getting damaged while straightening.

Also, try using a different straightener. I use a Conair Wet to Dry. It has different heat levels and you can straighten while your hair is wet... but takes longer. It's cost about $30

Your hair will never come out as good as it does when they stylist does it because she went to school to learn how to do hair. I have the same problem. What i do is make sure i get every little piece then it comes out great. Even though it takes forever it's worth it. I use these finishing sprays and hair oil and they work good you can buy them at sally's

i'm not sure about the product, but a pretty fast way to strighten and get it straight is do it in layers, starting with the bottom. And then releasing more hair down until all is straight. And since you have short hair you are lucky because it will only take like 20-30 minutes.....i have long hair and it takes me like an hour

Really, really make sure your hair is bone dry before using a straightener otherwise it will become a frizzy mess. I have super long hair and even when done right takes AT LEAST an hour, its annoying, I know.

I use "Straight sexy hair" in a tall silver can with a red cap, usually found in salons.

Blow dry hair first, doesnt have to be a good blow dry just mess it up so it dries all the way, THEN spray a little of the straightening product in you want to use, THEN straighten with the flat iron.

Try blow drying it straight first then use the straightening iron. You can use shampoos and conditioners that help to straighten hair as well and always use a smoothing cream or de-frizer. Check out the Garnier Nutrisse product line for cheap items that work well.

There are a lot of products like shampoos, conditioners, serums, and sprays that help with straightening your hair. I know that herbal essences has a line of shampoo/conditioner and maybe even more that is specifically for helping straighten hair, and I'm sure there are a lot other brands that have some too. next time you're at the grocery store, pharmacy or salon, look for them, theres a ton out there. And if you get it from the pharmacy or grocery store it is really inexpensive.
