When straightening my hair should I use any kind of gel or serum to make my hair look silky/glossy?

I have wavy/curly hair and sometimes I straighten it and my hair is perfectly straight but it never looks like those commercials on TV where the people have extremely glossy hair. Do they spend a lot of money in salons to get their hair like that? I have heard that you can put on some kind of serum in your hair while straightening or after straigntening which will make your hair look silky. (I am not trying to look like a movie star and i don't want to be like them either)

I feel your pain - I have the same type of hair. One of the best things I've found to use for my hair is TRESemme's No Frizz Shine Spray. You can spray it before you use the straightener to make it look glossy and afterwards for touch-ups. It is super light and doesn't leave your hair feeling greasy or weighed down which is a problem that I've had with a lot of products.

just buy a shine spray or anti-frizz spray from like...Tresemm'e or Pantene and apply it after you've straightend it.

I would buy a bottle of Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream from the Sleek %26amp; Shine line or products. Blow dry your hair, and then put it in your dry hair. And then straighten. It's great, and you know what the best part is? It's under 4 dollars!

If you want a more expensive product that has natural products, I would try anything from the Sexy Hair line. You can check there products out on SexyHair.com or Amazon.com. You can usually buy these products in Salons and Online, I've scene a few of the products at Target, but they're extremely expensive.

P.S. This stuff is fantastic!

well on the commercials it may show them using the hair straightener u have but they probably used one that makes there hair shinny and yes they probably used a spray to make their hair look shiny and not frizzy so go out and get that if u want ur hair to be shiny :)

You can't use gels or serum in your hair while the relaxer(chemical) is in your hair. You can use them after you wash the relaxer out of your hair and your hair is dry. Or even if you're straightening your hair with a pressing comb or straightnening iron you can use gels or serums.
