Pro's and con's of permenant hair straightening?

Im 13 and i was wondering if getting my hair permenantly straightened would be ok. I have a friend(same age) that got it done and it looks amazing every day! my hair is very wavy and i straighten it almost everyday. What is the cost for hair down to my shoulders?

Pro's and con's of permenant hair straightening?

Do you mean chemically straightened? If you do they say that it really damages your hair and you have to treat it specially at the hair salon when you want it colored. I have curly hair too and I straighten it a lot. If you don't want to damage it than deep condition it once a week. It repairs the damage the hot iron does.

it damages ur hair, while it does look good ur hair will later start falling out and it will get bad looking as u grow older...but saves u time/looks good....costs about 100 or more. also it doesn't last that long

I don't know the cost, but here are a few pros and cons

PROS

you'll never need a flat iron again

It'll take less time to get ready each day

Your hair will look amazing every day

CONS

You're damadging your hair

You can never curl or wave your hair, even for formal events

You're taking away your natrual look

Good luck...remember, permanent is PERMANENT...

i dont think you should. im 13 too (almost 14) and my best friend got it down for about 700$ and IT DIDNT WORK AT ALL! it only works on some people and all it did to her was COMPLETELY damage every bit of her hair, now she has horrible split dry ends so she just straightens it everyday.

if i were you i wouldn't get it done but i'd get a shampoo and conditioner and spray or creme so straightening every day WONT damage your hair so much!

GOOD LUCK!

Exactly what "Swim Chick" said...but it is only permanent for about 1-4 years not for your life. You will need to straighten out a few kinks sometimes.

Pro's and con's of permenant hair straightening?

The pros: Well, your hair DOES look nice. It's so much more manageable, and it's so silky.

The cons: It really damages your hair, and when you do it once, you have to keep doing it. It's better to just use straightening creams or serums (that don't have a permanent effect) and a ceramic straightener. That's what I do, and my hair is really nice.

What you should do is get a moisturizing hair cream and put lots of it in your hair (because wavy or curly hair is usually drier than straight hair) before blow-drying. When your hair's really dry, straighten it with a ceramic straightener.

Just stay away from the strong chemicals and you'll be fine.

Pro's and con's of permenant hair straightening?

PRO's: It will look straight and smooth every day

CON's: It will grow back out wavy

It could get really dryed out.

It is not cheap to do $80-$120
