Guy straightening hair?

I used to have straight hair as a kid, but now it's very curly, afroish, and difficult to handle. I know practically nothing about hair care; all I do is shampoo/condition, and brush/comb. is there any way to permanently straighten my hair or straighten it for a long period of time?

I've heard about straightening iron, but I don't think my hair is long enough, and if it ever gets that long, it might be too fro-ish already. I also heard of thermal reconditiong or something, but that's too expensive.

You have the option of getting a perm if you really want straight hair. You could buzz it if you want to, so you wouldn't have to worry about a lot of maintenance.

I suggest using a light leave-on conditioner to tame your curls a bit. Flat irons are hell. And the choppy, flat-ironed emo look is OUT.

Curls are hella cute - girls actually like that - I think its sexy - use some gel - you have to get it cut properly though maybe that is the reason. Keep your curls cutie!

you can get it perminatly straightened at a hair salon i think it stays for like 5 months ask a hair cutter.and i dissagree with flygirrl straight hair on guys is way better

actually straighting it might send the wrong message.... keep it curly and a lil long it would probly look cute if you got that long hair skater/surfer look!

A straightening iron will work even if your hair is fairly short hair. You can go to a beauty supply store for beauticians and they can point you in the right direction as what is best for you. You don't have to be a beautician to buy products from the supply store, you will just have to pay full retail price.

Long curly hair on guys is cute too though.

You could try a relaxer or a reverse perm. And use a leave in conditioner to tame the mane. and straight irons come as small as one inch.

but if you would like it straighten for like a while you go to a hair styles and get it chemically straighten
