This is a possibility. Sometimes if you fry your hair under the ceramic plates it can cause a lighter color to appear-such as a burnt Orange/blonder color.

If you color your hair, with repeated use, the heat can cause the color to fade a little. However on natural hair color, it does not cause a color change.

I use a straightening shampoo /conditioner as well as a leave in conditioner....and straighten with a ceramic iron. I have not noticed much change to my hair color. Check your hair products to see if they are color safe....will say so right on the label. If it does not say, then there is a chance that it could cause some lightening to colored hair. (if you hair has not been dyed or bleached, then there should not be any color change) With summer months ahead, keep in mind that the sun and chlorinated pool water can lighten hair, any hair.

my hair looks darker when it's curley...and it's naturally curly...the color is fake....when i straighten it, it tends to look more blonde.
