Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

I got my hair cut about a year ago, and my hair used to be down to the middle of my back i got it cut up to my shoulders and its only grown like and inch since then and i really want my long hair back but i straighten my hair every day (i was born with really curly hair) does straightening it fry my hair? does it break my hair which is keeping it from growing? do u think i should give my hair a break so then it will grow or is straightening it not the problem?

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

Want to make your hair grow quicker, this might sound a little weird. Go and buy a some mayonnaise or Ketchup squeeze it and pour its contents on your head. For several weeks, and watch it grow. Healthy Hair!!!!

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

No. Hair is already freaking dead.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

You may be frying it on the ends so u get split ends so looks shorter...but your hair grows from the top of your head not the ends...

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

except for that, straightening your hair can damage it and make you have split ends, stop straightening your hair...if yu want to then u should do the permanent straightening

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

what does help it grow faster if you pull it back in a tight pony tail (maybe when u go to bed) It helps pull and grow a little bit faster.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

you're damaging your hair..try to use alot of conditoner and don't blow dry it all the time or straighten cus it makes it all dry. and i know if you always keep your hair tied, it grows faster.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

It would definately grow healthier. You should style it with a blow dryer to keep it from breaking, as with a straightener. If you have really curly hair, use what God gave you and accentuate it! Put a product in it if it has frizz and maybe your curls will come out really cute! Who knows? Try many different things and avoid using too much heat. Good luck!

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

Straightening fries your hair... breaks your hair which is keeping it from growing.? You should give your hair a break.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

Yes , I am only a 10 year old and I straighten and relax my hair when I stopped my hair grew down to my but!

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

Your diet.

Eat healthy, be healthy- your hair will get the extra vitamins to support it's growth.

You can't make your hair grow faster- but you can prevent things from slowing down the speed of your hairgrowth. :]

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

You should stop straightening your hair right away. GIve it a break! Use a good conditioner. and I agree with some of the others. TIe it in a pony tail especially before you go to bed.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

Straigntening can damage the hair then the ends split. I was having that happen because I did not cut it for a long time. When I started getting trims every 2-3 months and just having them cut off the damaged part then it started growing better.

Do you think my hair will grow faster if i stop staightening it?

It won't break off as much and you can achieve longer lengths. I don't use any heat on my hair at all, not even from a blowdryer, I barely get any breakage at all.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

I'm a white female and when I hit puberty, my pretty lose curly hair turned into a monster. It turned curly in a different way. It was super curly and it was an afro- worse than an afro. It looked horrible and my mother would't let me leave the house without going to a professional and straightening it. I've gone to a professional once a week- had them wash and straighten it. I don't wash it only once a week when I'm at a salon. I simply cannot wear it curly. I tried once and got some horrible comments about it- which made me extremely depressed. When I look in the mirror and see my hair not straightened and a big poof ball- it's not me. Going to the salon once a week is getting to be too much and my hair has made me think some really dark thoughts about life. I must always carry a jacket with me- even in the summer because if my hair gets wet- It gets extremely frizzy and dry. But, when my hair is straight and non frizzy- it is smooth and silky. How can I wear my hair natural?

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

Yes.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

Try a relaxer. Grow your hair longer, the shorter it is, the kinkier it'll be. Use extra conditioner, a leave in conditioner, mousse and styling gel. Blow dry your hair on cool.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

Have you tried de=frizzing products. Have you tried a really good stylist to cut it to go with the curls? I would love some curls. Too bad we can't share my stick straight do nothing hair with yours.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

you can just permanently straiten it once and you wont have to do it again.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

You can get it permanently relaxed. I think you will be much happier. It's like the reverse of the perm. Of course as the roots come in you'll have to get it touched up, but that's the same hassle as people who dye their hair... once a month or a little less beats once a week, right?

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

Don't feel bad. It is the hair you were given, and I'm sure there are many ways out there that can help make it more manageable. There are a lot of products that defrizz. You can find a lot at the typical grocery store, but you should also check out beauty stores. Ex: Sally beauty stores, Ulta stores. They have tons of hair products. Also, check out ceramic irons. Some of those are inexpensive but go a long way.

I checked out some web sites online that you could possibly utilize for advice on what to use and what not to use.

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

you should just buy a ceramic straightener or curler.. they are easy to use and just let the iron part of it smooth out your hair

theyll help

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

It sounds pretty uncomtrolable but you should ask your stylist about it. Or you could try this: http://www.napturalglory.com/thebush.htm...

I know its a website for African Americans but it sounds like thats the kind of texture your hair has.

**** Luck!

Is my hair that bad that it can't be fixed?

I had this issue too. It can be very consuming. That's all I thought about. I decided when I was 14 that I wasn't going to deal with my hair anymore, so I had it cut short in a pixie style. My mom was against it since most young girls don't have short hair and i 'd stand out. But you know what? I already felt self concious , you know? And I looked and felt great. I could wear my hair curly without it being puffy. The key is getting hair texturized and thinned. Thick haired girls should ALWAYS have layers to avoid the rectangle look and it has to be thinned.

Now I have a bob cut and straighten it myself with a T3 flat iron.

So, I have worn it curly and short and medium and straight.

There is hope for you, take people's opinions with a grain of salt and do what makes you happy...IT REALLY IS A PERSONAL DECISION WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR HAIR!

lots of luck;)

About Straightening hair?

when i straighten my hair, it looks kind of course and its a little poofy, how can i straighten it and it'll look sleek and shiny and straight

About Straightening hair?

Use a straightening serum.

or diffuser

About Straightening hair?

apply straight hair serum before you straighten, and be sure to get the iron very close to your roots

About Straightening hair?

use a leave in conditioner before straightening it.

that should help with the fly away hairs.

About Straightening hair?

what i suggest is buying CHI straightening gel. u can buy it at any stor (i got mine at target) its cheap...easy to use...and it works wonderfullly

About Straightening hair?

NOO

About Straightening hair?

Maybe its your staitener and when you do strainten your hair clip up half of it and then let the half down and do that part

About Straightening hair?

well i recomend you buy hair products so it can be sleek and shine when i always finish straightning my hair its all frizy and i use john frieda frizz you can find it in any store

About Straightening hair?

Well i straighten my hair everyday. Cause it must be straight or i dont leave the house :3

Straighteners arent suppose to leave your hair poofy. Maybe buy a better one. Try adding heat protectent(sp?)

About Straightening hair?

Put a Straightning serum!

About Straightening hair?

Splay, Its A 10 miracle product works really well.

About Straightening hair?

Take a small amount of moose and run it through your hair,

then straighten.

Or use skinny serum .

About Straightening hair?

um... try using anti friz products

About Straightening hair?

Straighten it over, and over again

until there's no waves or curls.

It works for me.

About Straightening hair?

while your hairs still wet use a straightening serum ( i use pual mitchell super skinny)...then before you straighten it when its dry use CHI silk infusion (if protects your hair from damage, adds shine, and it makes it less poufy)

About Straightening hair?

I know what you mean. I have naturally curly hair like really really curly hair and sometimes when I straighten it, it gets course and kind of poofy. i just started using this stuff its kind of like the product bed head and its called crazy sleek. it comes in like a orange spray bottle and it really makes my hair smooth and nice

About Straightening hair?

this used to happen to me. try taking longer to straighten it, that helped for me. when you are pulling the straightener down the hair, do it slower. thats what stopped mine doing that. now i have a better hair straightener, if that doesnt help get a new straightener. i would recommend a GHD straightener, i have that one now. it keeps your hair shiny and smooth. good luck

About Straightening hair?

go to your local sallon and they will have about a trillion different straughtening serums you can choose from. they are pricey but are well woth it. make sier you get something that protect your hair as well b/c straightening will do a number on it!

About Straightening hair?

oh that is so sexy to have a guy have that haircut. just make sure you get at the root of your hair with the straightener. and put alittle shine mist on it (( like vo5 products )) after your done. but not too much.

dont worry i started straightening my hair at 12 ys old and it looked like what your describing. but after awhile of doing it i got Really Good!!!

so keep trying ill get it

ps- and you will get frustrated

About Straightening hair?

use oils for hair. it will help it look shiner, smooth, and straight.

buy the oil for hair at nearest hair shop

About Straightening hair?

I'm hispanic and have curly thick hair. After using SO many products I found oil sheen and a flat iron called Gold N' Hot works miracles. Everyone thinks my hair is naturally straight. I towel dry my hair, spray oil sheen, let it dry naturally, then use the flat iron in sections. The end result is beautiful. African american products are made to protect hair with substantial use of heat. Just make sure to use it (the oil sheen) sparingly if you have oily hair.

I used to have straight hair when I was younger...I want that kind of straightness again =) I don't think I'm going to resort to ironing my hair anything like that....I'm looking for a simple but effective means such as using a certain type of shampoo/conditioner that will straighten my hair ^_^.

Thanks, Van

I'm a 17-year-old male with wavy-ish/curly-ish hair. How can I straighten it? (i.e. shampoo, conditioner?)

No shampoos or conditioners will work for that. Go to a local salon and get it done. But they will very likely use a flat iron.

I'm a 17-year-old male with wavy-ish/curly-ish hair. How can I straighten it? (i.e. shampoo, conditioner?)

No combination of shampoo or conditioner will do it. Use products such as a relaxer.

I have the same problem and the only thing that works for me is a product from Aussie called 3 minute miracle. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't straighten your hair but it does make it easily manageable. My advice is try the stuff and blow dry it straight. If that doesn't work then try someeone elses suggestion.

I'm a 17-year-old male with wavy-ish/curly-ish hair. How can I straighten it? (i.e. shampoo, conditioner?)

there's this permanent straightening thing..

called Japanese Thermal something..

it will make it permanently straight.

cost depends on your hairlength.

Cut it very, very short, and it will be straight.

Hi, does anyone know a salon where i can get permanent hair straightening (Yuko or other) in Spain?

You can NEVER straightnen hair permanently, you can never change what is natural, its best to leave ur hair natural, because all thse chemicals make ur hair damage and even fall out, there are long term effects of these, its all about making money, these companis produce all these hair products so they can make money but end of the day they all are temporary and damaging, curly wavy hair is good, shud be glad and proud of how u look, people pay loads of money to get Cruly hair, ooooooh,.lmao lol.

Are there any sistas out there that have used that " Japanese" hair straightening techniqu

Check this site out. I went on google and was trying to find out for you. I don't think it will be good for any type of hair. I wish you the best of luck.

The best place to go is Three-13 in Marietta, Georgia!!

Which is worse ? Chemically straightening hair or ironing hair every 2 to 3 days ??

I have Long natural curly hair and have had my hair chemically straightened twice, I love it. I know this is not the best for my hair but I like how straight it is when finished and it last me almost a year. Now that I can not find a place to chemically do my hair anymore, I have bought an iron and do it about twice a week. Dont' like this as much, have seen a lot more grey hairs.

Which is worse ? Chemically straightening hair or ironing hair every 2 to 3 days ??

i have had my chi flat iron for over 3 years. I have used it on my hair everyday.

it's very important to:

1) not wash your hair everyday; your hair needs it's natural oils

2) use hair products; like aveda damage control

3) use an extra moisturizing conditioner; like keretase

i think using a GOOD flat iron is better than having it chemically straightened.

Which is worse ? Chemically straightening hair or ironing hair every 2 to 3 days ??

Chemicals are bad for the hair but only if used too frequetly. Heat is bad too unless you are using ceramic hair tools :)

Which is worse ? Chemically straightening hair or ironing hair every 2 to 3 days ??

If you don't already, try using a heat/anti-frizz product. I've been using Redken Heat Glide for about 3 years now and I love it! If you have a quality iron that gets hot evenly and doesn't snag your hair, you should be fine straightening it a few times a week.
